I’ve heard of that book. I’ll have to check it out someday.

As you probably can guess by everything I’ve said so far, I’m a bit of a Christian neo-platonist. Therefore, it would have to be sacrilege if I didn’t say Plato. I’d also say I’ve been influenced by Aristotle, Thomas Aquinas, Leibnez, Plotinus, CS Lewis and other contemporary thinkers like Peter Kreeft, John Milbank, David Bentley Hart, Eleonore Stump, and Charles Taylor just to name a few.

I’m no where near as read as I’d like to be. Most of my thinking has been formed by reading or listening to bits and pieces from the above intellectuals or other work that has been interpreted and distilled for them (For example I haven’t actually read the Republic or the Summa Theologica or the Five Ways and so on. But I’ve learned a great deal about what’s going on in those works).

A book that I have read and also recommended to someone else in these comments is The Experience of God by David Bentley Hart. This book also goes into the problems with materialism overstepping its bounds and is essentially a big expose on what we really mean when we say the word, ‘God.’ It’s not exactly an easy read but it’s a fantastic illustration of how Modernity has gone astray in this department.
